We are T-minus 2 1/2 days away from the leak in the Hoover Dam becoming an all out flood watch. You may want to wear life jacket on Thursday, folks! Consider yourselves warned.
On the docket for the rest of the week:
Today is the 4th Annual Kooistra/Roosma Kickball Invitational. It's third grade verses second grade. The record as of today? Third grade - 3. Second grade - 0. My poor, poor cherubs. There is nothing worse than getting the snot beat out of you by bigger, meaner, merciless third graders. Especially since they're SO excited and truly have no clue of the bloodbath that awates them. It's like Braveheart. We all paint our faces blue and charge our enemy; head-on. Except it's not a war, it's a game of kickball. And we're not on horses, we're in Nikes. And Mel Gibson is nowhere in sight.
Tomorrow is the big reading luau for second grade cherubs who met their reading goal. Time to dust off the coconut bra and check the inseam on my grass skirt. And with the weather forecast, it's looking more and more like we'll be celebrating indoors. Yeah. That's the same. Can you imagine finally getting the opportunity to visit Hawaii and then have it rain the ENTIRE time you're there?!? I would just throw myself into a volcano. End it all.
And finally, Thursday. Sweet, sweet Thursday. The day the cherubs break the unbilical cord that is my grasp on them and leave the nest. The day I will go through a Costco pack of Kleenex. The day I will not bother to wear eyeliner and mascara. Or better yet, apply it on my cheeks since that's where it will end up anyway.
"Who's the hot mess is room 12?"
"Oh, that's our very own Niagara Falls. Pay no attention to her."

That picture of the young lad above is priceless!! You must send a copy to his mother. :) And yes, Holly came home very dizzy, thank you very much. Took me a minute to remember it was Air Olympics day. It's a good week to be in 2nd grade, that's for sure. And your kickball game news even made it home with my 5th grader. Exciting stuff, friend!
