Day 13: White-Cape Wonder: Pregame

Only 4 more days until the cherubs' highly anticipated Christmas concert. You know, the one where they all wear white capes and certain teachers who shall remain nameless, cry their eyes out? Yep. That's the one.

We had practice at the high school gym this morning. We'll practice again on Wednesday morning. And let's just say that it's a good thing we do a run-through twice. Monday always seems to be just short of a train wreck. Wednesday is considerably better, but still veering towards the ditch. Then Friday comes and VIOLA! Perfection. Though I usually can't see anything through all the tears.

Look at that lil' stud nugget in the front row, listening intently to Music Teacher's directions. He is over the moon, because he has a speaking part this year. And he'll nail it. Because Teacher threatened to banish him from second grade if he makes an oopsie. Just kidding! He'll nail it, because he's practiced it just shy of a million times.

"What's that Music Teacher? Smile when we sing? Don't look so serious?"

"Oh, Music Teacher, you are so silly! We don't want to picture Teacher in a penguin costume! That's funny!"

"It really would be funny, though, if Teacher came to school dressed like a penguin. We should tell her to do that!"

"But first we'll finish our song and try and clap in sync. What take is this? Take 27? OK. This is the one, guys. I can feel it."
