Day 9: When I dip you dip we dip

How do you explain to second grade cherubs the importance of electricity when it comes to dipping candles? Didn't the colonists dip candles because they DIDN'T have electricity? I don't understand, Teacher! Yes, my dear Obi Wans, they did. However, we don't light a fire in school in order to dip our candles. We melt candles in a crockpot, thus creating wax. Therefore, the need for electricity is paramount. It's really quite simple, cherubs.

So today, the cherubs opened the door to the past and experienced life as a colonial child.




Be still my heart. Look at this lil' nugget. He camed dressed as a Colonial boy. A tuxedo from kindergarten; pants rolled up over his knees so they resembled breeches. Knee high socks. He's wearing the same thing tomorrow. What....a stud.
